As you all know, I’m Hamiltrash.
And also LMM trash he has spoiled us with the three Hamildrops this month and is just such a pure wonderful human being join my fan club.
Two weeks ago, I saw Hamilton on West End.
And got Hamilton merch *cough* a Hamilton hoodie.
As utter Hamiltrash, I’ve been meaning to do this tag for ages, and I thought the opportunity was way too good to pass up!
(And also because I have 3 wrap-ups scheduled to go up and we all need a break in between them).
On to the tag!
The Room Where It Happens: A Book World You Would Put Yourself In
Harry Potter. Yes, everyone says this but there’s a reason. The world is so rich and well-described and not gonna lie, I am so here for the food. Butterbeer! Chocolate frogs! Bertie Botts! Skiving Snackboxes!
Ok, I’m done for now.
The Schuyler Sisters: An Underrated Female Character
Can we take a moment to admire these fabulous ladies? (Werk!)
Also, this is one of my favorite songs from the soundtrack – it’s so good. Do tell me which is your favorite song of the soundtrack in the comments. If not, listen to the soundtrack and come back when you’re done
and your soul is dead and your feelings wrecked.
I’m not sure whether my answer is underrated, but I gotta talk about my girl Helene Aquilla from an Ember in the Ashes series. To me, she feels really underrated because everyone talks about Laia and Elias. I genuinely do not and cannot understand the hate for her, and I will continue to stan for her. She is such a badass and should really be more appreciated, because she is an icon and needs to be treated like one.
Another answer I have for this one is June Pharell-Park and Dayton Neisser from Undead Girl Gang. They have fantastic character arcs and were so complex and are just awesome.
My Shot: A Character That Goes After What They Want and Doesn’t Let Anything Stop Them
I think I’m in an Ember in the Ashes funk, but I have to go with the Commandant. She’s completely evil but knows exactly what she wants, how to get there, and will most likely kill you if you get in her way.
You’ll Be Back: Sassiest Villain
I’m just beginning to realize the lack of sassy book villains I can think of, which is extremely tragic, because we need more sassy villains in our life. But honestly, I have to go with the original King George from Hamilton, and even though this is cheating, it’s my blog and
cheating technicalities happen all the time.
Non-Stop: A Series You Marathoned
Honestly, the last series I remember marathoning was, um, an Ember in the Ashes.
But seriously, don’t sleep on this series. It’s so worth it.
And if the 4th book is coming out in 2020 I will scream and cry and riot because Sabaa already pulled the two year card last time and it wasn’t fun at all.
Satisfied: Favourite Book(s) with Multiple POVs
I really loved Furyborn, The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo and the Crazy Rich Asians series (please go and watch the movie, which was not only incredibly fun and meaningful plus you can support Asian films!!) I loved them all for very different reasons and I
am going to shove at you highly recommend these books.
Helpless: A Relationship You Were Rooting for at the Start
Honestly? So many of my favorite ships are dead or die pretty quickly. Some of my favorite ships include Ron and Hermione from the Harry Potter series, Will and Tessa from the Infernal Devices, and Helene and Elias from an Ember in the Ashes.
Please don’t leave.
Ten Duel Commandments: A Fight Scene You Loved
Any fight scene in the Dark Artifices and the Infernal Devices because Cassandra Clare is just so good at them. I’m excluding the Mortal Instruments because it was so meh.
Say No To This: A Guilty Pleasure Read
The To All The Boys I’ve Loved Before trilogy. It’s so cute, it has great Asian rep, amazing food and the movie was so great and fantastic! Well, I’m going to curl up in bed with some cookies and resist rewatching it. Highly recommend.
What Comes Next: A Series You Wish Had More Books
I’m honestly happy and satisfied when series end, but I wouldn’t mind if the Strange and Beautiful Sorrows of Ava Lavender had a sequel, specifically about Vivienne because her story was so interesting. And isn’t that the best title ever?
Right Hand Man: Favourite BroTP
Look, I’m Six of Crows trash and am so h y p e d for the third Six of Crows novel and this beauty
(can I marry it?? As well as British accents?? Thank youuuu).
So, of course, I have to answer every BroTP from Six of Crows. This crew is so great, unforgettable and all icons and cinnamon rolls and I have so much love for them.
Another of my favorite BroTPs is the friendships in Simon vs. the Homo Sapiens Agenda: Simon, Leah, Nick, Abby, Garrett, Bram … I can’t remember any one else because memory …
By the way, these are both some of my all-time favourite books. Read them and love them and then scream with me!!
You know you want to.
What’d I Miss: A Book Series You Were Late To
The Shadowhunter Chronicles for sure – it was a really well established fandom when I read it and was ridiculously hyped. And as you all now know, I am now officially Shadowhunter trash and am dying for the release of Queen of Air and Darkness.
Burn: The Most Heartbreaking End to a Relationship
Look, I love Helene and Elias together, and I still can’t get behind Laia and Elias, and I’m just so sad and how they ended and they were so closE like whY.
Stay Alive: A Character You Wish Was Still Alive
*spoilers for HP ahead*
One answer and one answer only: Fred Weasley.
why. whY. wHY. WHYYYYYY. It ripped my heart out, jumped on it and broke my soul … oh, George …
^ What a mood.
The Reynolds Pamphlet: A Book with a Twist You Didn’t See Coming
hAvE yOu rEaD tHiS?
Ok, I’m sorry I couldn’t resist.
An Ember in the Ashes killed me, Crooked Kingdom destroyed my existence and Furyborn left me on a whatttttt note. Look, all three of these books are fantastic and are going to leave you shooketh, and please read them.
Who Lives, Who Dies, Who Tells Your Story: A Book/Series That’ll Be Remembered Throughout History
Ok, I know everyone answers this, but this is what I have to go with. Harry Potter is basically already a cult favourite and a children’s classic in its own right, and there’s no reason why it shouldn’t be, because it’s HP.
The Hate U Give is such a wonderfully, beautiful, fantastic, amazing, poignant book about the Black Lives Matter movement, and both the movie and the collector’s edition are coming out next month. Get your hands on and watch them both ASAP.
So, have you read any of these? (This is the last time I’m using this one) Are you Hamiltrash like me or have you listened/watched (to) Hamilton yet? Any books here that you’ve read or on your tbr? Let me know in the comments.
