14+ of my Most Anticipated Releases of the Quarter (ft. diverse books that can step on me, pretty covers + me screaming, again)

Welcome to another post about ya girl screaming about new releases with pretty covers!

As many of you know, these are some of my favourite posts to create, because it’s another excuse for me to scream about books I am incredibly excited about.

My previous anticipated releases posts used to cover six months, but since COVID-19 are moving release dates around like everyday, I decided to cover my anticipated releases for July, August and September, and do one for the last three months in September/October.

Since I’ve been reading a lot less lately and my TBR is NOT thriving, I’ve been really picky with which books I am anticipating, which is partially why this list is much shorter than it would normally be.

Mid Year Book Freak Out Tag // Gushing about my 2020 reads + me trying to be concise

For some reason, it is already July?

Which means it’s time to look back on the year (in terms of my reading) so far. I always love doing these sorts of posts, and I’ve read some pretty good things in the first half of the year, so I figured I would do this post before it got too late.

And yes, I know I disappeared for a few weeks? I’m really trying not to do this, but some personal things came up (+ rising senior stress) so that I wasn’t in the best headspace to blog. But I’m back, and I’m really going to try my best to be consistent. You all are such gems and I love you all so much ❤️

The Percy Jackson Book Tag // ft. me attempting not to repeat books + small text

So if you didn’t know, Percy Jackson is getting an adaptation.

And I, like the entire planet, am hyped about it!

While Percy Jackson was not my number one series as a child, it was still so critical in shaping me as a baby reader and just in my reading journey in general, so I thought this was fun to do, especially since both May @ Forever and Everly and Lily @ Sprinkles of Dreams tagged me in it. I love you both (and everyone needs to follow them now if they haven’t already) ❤

Note: While I did not address this last week as I had scheduled my post before everything blew up, I wanted to take a second to address the current political turmoil and the Black Lives Matter movement across the world. As someone with the privilege of having a platform, it’s so important for me to use it, so I’ve linked some organisations you can check out or donate to below:

What I Read In Quarantine: Tier-Ranking Edition! (ft. graphics, favourite reads + new formatting)

During the time I disappeared, I … did read some books?

But since this is a book blog, we’re going to talk about them, but with the twist of tier ranking them!

If you all have (somewhat) kept up with the book internet (mostly book twitter and BookTube), you know that tier ranking is a massive trend. And since I too love following the crowd ranking things, I’ve always wanted to make a tier ranking post at some point in the blog and to see how that would translate in blog form.

So after I saw Ellias’s video where he tier ranked all the books he recently read, I thought it would be a fun idea for me to do the same thing, especially since I’ve been finding the format of my previous wrap ups stifling, and need to try something new.

During quarantine (from March to May), I’ve read 14 books, and while I have read significantly less especially compared to previous years, I’ve been able to enjoy the books I do read more.

We’re going to go month by month, and then finish with the final graphic!

For everyone who wants the SparkNotes edition of this post.

February ’20 Wrap Up // The One Where I Found A Bunch of Great Media … but got stuck in quarantine (not clickbait, I’m actually serious)

Another month has come and gone, and I, uh. Am still the same old me.

(Honestly, why am I like this).

The month of love happened, and spoiler: exactly nothing in my life changed!!

February was yet again, another chaotic month and me thinking about it makes me tired (but also, I just love talking about my month and how it went it all that? So we’re still here).

I’m so sorry that this post is insanely long (it’s 2.3k+ words at the time of finishing this) but February was a month where a LOT happened, and yeah, I am here to talk about it.

But yeah, I’m going to shut up now so we can get into this post! I love you guys and thank you for sticking with me, you all are the best 💖

It’s My Two Year Blogiversary?? // Reflecting On The Last Year, Sappy Shoutouts + A Lot of Soft Girl Hours

Today’s post is a really special post … because today marks TWO years of me blogging?

Yeah.

It’s absolutely insane, and I can’t believe it. And it’s been a pretty great two years, honestly.

This post is going to be looking back on the past year (in terms of blogging – qualitatively and quantitatively) and just me shouting out a ton of my friends, so prepare yourself for a ton of wholesomeness!

This year, especially, has been the year where I feel like I really took blogging more seriously, ramped up the quality of my content, and just felt a lot more comfortable blogging. And yeah, there’s been some bumps in the road, but in general. The blogging life has been pretty good!

(Also! I just stole the exact formatting of this post from my one year blogiversary post, so feel free to check that out if you want?)

I just really want to apologise for disappearing again. I seriously don’t mean to do it, but life is kind of … a lot right now and I just keep doing it? I’m really going to try to be more consistent, but I just picked up another commitment and like. I seriously don’t know. (I’ll talk about it in my February Wrap Up post, which is spoiler! My next post). But I’m genuinely going to try, because blogging here is a ton of fun even though ya girl needs to seriously improve her time management.

Jan ’20 Wrap Up // The One Where It’s the Roaring ’20s, Found A New Favourite Artist + Had A Tumultuous Life Month

The first month of the Roaring ’20s is over!

And like, damn. It went so fast.

January was an insanely busy month for me, and I genuinely had so many things happened this month. It was a huge blur that went really fast, but also really slowly at the same time, if that makes any sense? But I was able to read a bunch of really solid reads (albeit all from the same genre).

Let’s just get into this truly chaotic month, shall we?
