If you know anything about me and my reading: you know that I love contemporaries, I love readathons and I love making TBR posts.
For some reason.
Hence, it is to the surprise of absolutely no one that the contemporary-a-thon is one of my favourite readathons, and that I really try and participate every round. However, I was super close to skipping this round because of school commitments and all, but my neurotic, contemporary-a-thon loving self would not have that.
So I’m going to do my best to participate in that, while trying not to die from school and keeping it fairly chill. I don’t expect to read that much, but I am hoping I can squeeze quite a few books in!
This readathon is hosted by the wonderful Chelsea @ Chelsea Dolling Reads, Melanie @ Mel To The Any, Julie @ Pages and Pens, and Natasha @ My Reading Is Odd, and will be hosted from Monday, the 23rd of September to Sunday, the 29th of September.
I am EXCITED.
On to the books!

So August has come and gone (like summer) and I am drowning in school work.
With the end of August, comes my August recap. And spoiler: it’s LONGGGG.
And I don’t know whether I should say sorry (because I cannot shut up OH MY GOD) or you’re welcome (because some people actually like my wrap ups?? What).
Also, for all you Friends fans out there: I’m changing my titles to include The One with/where like they do with Friends episode titles. You’re welcome.

Wow, this was truly such an experience. This was an absolutely phenomenal anthology which spoke to my soul and heart, lived up to all my expectations. It is most definitely one of my favourites of the year and perhaps of all time, and even may be my favourite short story anthology ever.

In the plot twist of the century, sis found a 5 star read!
I know. Shocking.
I don’t know what else to say (I’m an incredibly awkward human lmao), and this post is way too long, so let’s just get into it!
And yes, I know I forgot to write an intro and left the word intro at the beginning. We all know I’m an embarrassment anyway.

July is over, and so is my free time (for the most part).
But seriously, July was generally a great month! 2019 is truly blowing by and that is absolutely insane to me.
I am terrified but nervously excited about everything in August, but it means a lot of things outside my comfort zone. Personal development, I suppose?
Love that for me ✌

Ya girl is back to ramble on about the books she has finished reading!
Ever since I wrote up the very first post in the series, I found that this both really works for me + it’s a great way for me to review the books I have read without committing to a full review!
During the second half of the month, I read eight books (seven novels and one flash fiction) from a wide variety of genres and did like them all.
I also participated in the Reading Rush (which made up five of these books) during my family vacation, and I’m super proud of myself, honestly.
On to the books!

It’s summer, which means more time to read, of course.
*Cue incessant cheering*
I love doing recommendation posts, and since it’s summer, I figured I might as well do a summer reading recommendation masterlist (because I have too many and as you know, I have a problem with shutting up).
The following books are all books that I feel are perfect for you to read this summer, are are all books I have rated 3 stars or above. Since this list is pretty sizable, I’ve divided them into different categories (pretty much genre categories) so you can peruse at your own leisure.
I’ve tried to refrain from putting super hyped books here, but sometimes I couldn’t help it. Also, all the titles lead straight to their respective Goodreads link (which all open in new tabs, and took me FOREVER to do welp).
Without further ado, here are 50+ books to
overload add to your TBR!
