So if you all didn’t know, I’m Taasia and I’m a teen book blogger who loves boosting teen voices!
And as a teen book blogger, I love it when I can find and connect with fellow teen book influencers.
I, like the majority of people in the community, read YA. I’ve seen that in an area of reading and publishing that is meant to be targeted at teens, that teens are so often left out of conversations, with many adults taking up spots for teen influencers.
We see this in more and more YA books being catered for older teens and less books being catered towards younger teens. We see this in how the primary influencers around YA are adults, especially since they are financially independent and just independent in a lot of other ways, leaving teens, who are dependent on their parents/guardians, heavily disadvantaged. We also see this, in how, in my opinion, adults are increasingly taking up spots that should be for teens.
Disclaimer: I love so many adult bookish influencers, but I’m really seeing teens being pushed out of this space when they really shouldn’t be. IMO, this gap between adult and teens should be a lot more even and less obvious. Does that make sense?
Anyway. After seeing this gap between teens and adults in the community, I decided to create a teenage bookish influencer round-up as a post on my blog! I put out a call on my Twitter for any teenage bookish influencers (across any and all forms of social media) to reply to my Tweet by the end of April. In my mind, teens are people aged 13-19 years old.
I am aware that my blog is very small, and that this may not get a lot of views. But I really want to boost the voices of my fellow teen bookish influencers, and I know that my newbie self would have really appreciated seeing this round-up of some really amazing teen bookish influencers.
I may do this again in a few months or so, and make this a series (or some sort of feature spotlighting teens because this was exhausting and took me way too long to post). Who knows?
In no particular order, here are 15+ teenage bookish influencers (more specifically, book bloggers and booktubers, in no particular order) that you should all follow now, if you haven’t already!
Ilsa @ A Whisper Of Ink
Ilsa is a teen book blogger and tweeter who talks pre-dominantly talks about YA books. She posts a mix of reviews, discussions, lists and recaps. She produces the most thoughtful and unique content, and is so smart and eloquent?? She’s currently on hiatus for exams (which I should technically be on too but here we are) but she has so much great content for you to catch up on while she’s away! She has the most beautiful watercolour aesthetic and is such a lovely person.

Her aesthetic is GORGEOUS, with her trademark pink, and she has an exquisite bookstagram feed! Aline is also one of the most supportive and sweet people in the community, and probably one of my closest friends in the whole community. I’m trying hard to really not be biased here, but I love her so much.

Yannes @ Infinite Bookish
Yannes is a teen Booktuber, Tweeter and Instagrammer. On her Booktube Channel, she has such a wide variety of content – from the more ‘typical’ Booktube content (which I 100% love!) such as wrap ups, tags, reviews, hauls to vlogs and discussions. I particularly love that her channel has such an international focus, as she is a Hong Kong Booktuber (ya girl used to live in Hong Kong) and she regularly talks about being an international Booktuber and also has content such as language challenges, which I find to be awesome! She is incredibly eloquent and confident, and I really appreciate that she is a teen Booktuber, which I find is rarely represented on Booktube.

In fact, I think my favourite posts of hers are her discussions. They’re just so absolutely enrapturing and fascinating and wow I have so much love for them?? She leaves the most thoughtful and intelligent comments, and she is such a lovely soul. This is such a lovely post! π I always love promoting teen bloggers, and as a teen blogger myself, I know it can be kind of scary to talk about age online (although I’m almost 20, so I’m not that young, haha!). I love all of these bloggers, but some of them I’d love to get to know more!

Ahhh thank you so much! Yes, it can be terrifying and vulnerable to talk about age, but I think it can do some great things too. I hope this post helps you to find lots of great teen bloggers π

Ahh Taasia this is an awesome post idea! I definitely agree, teens can be overshadowed so easily by adults and yeah there really isn’t that big an age gap. I’m gonna check out everyone I don’t follow already π
